Introducing Itzel!

I am going to tell you all now... You Will Love Itzel! She is super talented, a model, a boss, and much more. I was so glad I had the opportunity to meet her in the Miss America Organization. Give it up for Itzel!

1. At what age did you start dancing and singing?

I started singing/dancing when I was in elementary school an have continued doing so.

2. What is your favorite style of dance, and your favorite song?

My favorite style of dancing is Latin Dance. This includes bachata, salsa, cumbia, merengue and a few others. My favorite type of genre for singing is Jazz/blues.

3. What do you find challenging about dancing and singing?

The challenge of singing and dancing is not only learning new steps/technique but it’s about telling the story. Every song either sang, or danced to is telling a story and my job as a performer is to find the accurate way of telling that story. Learning the moves and using the right technique is cool but that’s just part of the struggle.

4. How has dancing and singing changed you life?

Dancing and singing has changed my life by allowing myself the freedom of expression. While many may see a me practicing for a song, once upon a time it was how I expressed myself and how I managed my emotions. I didn’t know healthy coping habits and singing and dancing helped me with that when I really needed it. It since has opened many opportunities and has allowed me to perform and compete with many beautiful artists. It’s an art, an outlet, a story, and a way to have all creative freedom for an individual.. Its emotional freedom.
