Introducing Alexis!

One could say it was fate, but I have had the opportunity to meet and be in many shows with Alexis. She is so sweet, talented, and really just a person you would want to meet. So, that is what we are going to do today!

1. What is your process for writing a song?

My process often starts with the lyrics. If something is on my mind, or I have an image I want to create, I start there. Once I have a line, I’ll find a chord to go with it and a melody line to go with that chord. Then from there I just keep building! Ideas for percussion, bass, and strings, etc. usually come last!

2. What is your favorite musical?

I think Hamilton is one of the most impressive and goosebumps-eliciting musicals ever, but if I could be in any musical it would probably be Heathers: The Musical!

3. Besides singing, what other artistic disciplines have you explored?

I love acting in theatre and film, and I also quite enjoy photography! Artists of any kind always have my admiration!

4. What can you tell us about Harry Styles?

Ha! I just think he’s an incredibly talented individual. It’s really amazing to watch someone be unapologetically themselves, and he is continuously creating a space for love and acceptance. The man is just relentlessly imaginative.
